SF Giants Baseball

I am…listening to Giants Baseball games.

They won the second game of the National League Championship Series on Monday. I am hoping they make it to the World Series and win there as well. All this following Giants baseball brings me back to memories from my youth. When I would go watch them play at Candlestick Park. I would sit along the 3rd baseline with my brother and my cousin Ron. This is during the days when Willie Mays and Willie McCovey played. And then at home my father would play the game on radios on each of the 3 levels of our house. That way he wouldn’t miss the game if he walked from the basement up into the kitchen and then to 3rd floor master bedroom.  Just to make sure as we say “all the bases were covered.”

Quotes on baseball:

•“Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is.” – Bob Feller

•“Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire’s eye or on the ball.” – James Patrick Murray

•“Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.” – Yogi Berra

•“I see great things in baseball. It’s our game – the American game.” – Walt Whitman
