I let go of hoarding

This is Today’s Positive Thought. The quotes I found below brought a whole new light to the idea of hoarding. Holding onto information and not just stuff is also a form of hoarding.

I am more familiar with the following definition in relationship to things. A hoarder cannot make rational decisions about what is useful and what is not. A hoarder is usually unaware of anything being wrong.  Someone who clutters feels concern about things accumulating.

Quotes on hoarding:

•“We are not cisterns made for hoarding, we are channels made for sharing.” – Billy Graham

•“Knowledge is power. Information is power. The secreting or hoarding of knowledge or information may be an act of tyranny camouflaged as humility.” – Robin Morgan

•“There are two fools in the world. One is the millionaire who thinks that by hoarding money he can somehow accumulate real power, and the other is the penniless reformer who thinks that if only he can take the money from one class and give it to another, all the world’s ills will be cured.” – Henry Ford

•“In today’s environment, hoarding knowledge ultimately erodes your power. If you know something very important, the way to get power is by actually sharing it.” – Joseph Badaracco
