December is Universal Human Rights Month

Every December is Universal Human Rights Month. Human rights are the fundamental rights which every living person is entitled to, and are considered to be universal rights or laws regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, country or time. The purpose of Universal Human Rights month is to disseminate information throughout the world about human rights and to distribute copies of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in English and other languages.

Article 1 of the Declaration of Human Rights states that, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”

I experienced my simple human right to vote in the Presidential election last month.
