Happy 4th of July

Today is Independence Day (USA)

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Celebrated with parades, fireworks, picnics, concerts and barbecues.

The gated community where I live in California is going to celebrate on Monday the 5th of July. They felt many people could be at church and miss the celebration. It will start with a parade. At the end of the parade is where clubs will have booths, one of which will be preparing hot dogs and hamburgers. There will be a water slide for the kids, and ice cream social. I will be at a booth for the fire safety and improvement council. We will be answering questions how to be prepared in case of a wildfire. We will be passing out pamphlets from CalFire called Ready, Set and Go.

I know that fireworks can be a big fun part of the 4th of July. None are allowed in our county. Too high of a fire danger.

I declare my independence.
