Yum. It’s National Hot Dog Day in USA

Today is National Hot Dog Day in USA. It is generally the 3rd Wednesday in July. July is also National Hot Dog month. Yes, a chance to celebrate one of America’s favorite summer sandwiches. Add lots of condiments. First Saturday in August is National Mustard Day for one of most used condiment on hot dogs. I add catsup and dill pickle to mine.

It is summertime when hot dogs are everywhere. They are center stage on the grill, and at picnics all across America. They are at the ballpark. I read that 9% of  hot dogs are sold at baseball stadiums each year. Wow. They are sold from carts on street corners in most cities. It’s not hard to find them. We consume hundreds of millions of hot dogs on the Fourth of July alone. I usually have a couple myself on the 4th.

National Hot Dog and Sausage Council estimates Americans eat 70 billion hot dogs each year. That is an average of 70 per person. Where are you on that average? Hot dogs are served in 95% of households in America. Do you have a favorite brand? My favorite everyday hot dog is Nathan brand. Everygood has a Beef Frankfurters I like as well only they are bigger.

My quote, “I am…enjoying hot dogs with lots of condiments!”
