National Read a Book Day

National Read a Book Day

To celebrate this day I got excited to be able to say I recently started reading a newly published book by my friend Frank Nissen. We met through Gold Country Writers. He is our current President. His book is Fortune’s Call: A Gold Rush Odyssey. It is full of action with great descriptions. I am about to begin reading Chapter 19 in section titled The California Trail. I love reading books by fellow authors.

Two days ago I got How to Go (Almost) Zero Waste: Over 150 steps to more sustainable living at home, school, work, and beyond. I spend a few minutes reading a section to find new ideas and more clarity on terms I read on packaging. That’s me I love to learn.

The intent of Read a Book Day is to get people reading. Could include reading something that inspires you, reading to children, donating a book to children’s school library or to host a book reading party. How do you plan to spend this day? Plan to take some time today to relax and read. I hope you have something to read that feeds the soul and the mind?
